SOULS HARBOR   Souls Harbor of Northwest Arkansas is a transitional community for men in recovery that provides a pathway to self-sufficiency by offering grace and guidance.  Their core values are:    We believe in … Service Above Self, Rebuilding Families, and A Faith-Driven Culture.  2017 was a year filled with success, blessings and growth for Souls Harbor.  Because of your generosity, we were able to provide care and services to over 44 residents and their families. The impact that Souls Harbor has on the men that we serve is life changing and would not be possible without your support.  Souls Harbor invests approximately $400 a month per resident to provide food, housing, utilities, education, and case management.  We rely on community support to sustain us.  In addition to monetary and in-kind gifts, we operate social enterprise programs, where the mission is the work force.  Our on-site community garden provides vegetables and “soul juice” that we sell at the Rogers Farmers Market.  Additionally, our wood sales were so successful that this will now be a year-round venture.  We invite you to come witness first-hand the fruits of your support. Please call Kim at 479-640-2888 to set up a time to come visit us.  You are very much appreciated, not just by our Board of Directors and staff, but by everyone your generosity touches.  We pray that you will be blessed, just as you have blessed others.

GREETERS, READERS, COUNTERS, VIDEO AND OFFICE HELPERS – We are working on the next quarter scheduling (April – June).  Please let the office know if there is a time-frame in which you will not be available.  We will try not to schedule you then.

THRIVENT CHOICE    It's that time of year again!  2017 Thrivent Choice Dollars expire on March 31, 2018  Remember to  direct your Choice Dollars before they expire.

LIFE THOUGHTS IN THE CHURCH

The only death necessary to save life is Christ’s. God sacrificed His Son so that no others would have to slaughter theirs (Genesis 22:12-13). Jesus also resisted (Mark 1:13) Satan’s quick-fix temptation to suicide (jumping from the temple). What He’s done for you, He does in you – enduring, escaping, overcoming. Because of this, you can receive even physical difficulty as a good gift from the loving Heavenly Father (James 1:17). Heavenly Father, deliver us from our efforts to deliver ourselves. Amen.

LIFE QUOTES  In a sense, that is where man is today … dead in sin, awaiting the Exodus led by the Son of Man, the new Moses, into eternal life, undoing the separation of soul and body at death. Lent (and the weakness of our mortal flesh) reminds us of this separation, our sin. Easter reveals to us the Exodus, Christ’s life that sets us free and brings us home.” James M. Kushiner, The Fellowship of St. James – A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life If you wish to support Lutherans for Life, you can through their web site: www.lutheransforlife.org

Are you God?

Joe was asked by a neighbor to drive her son to a hospital.  Although he had other things planned, Joe didn’t know how to say “No.”  So he put the child in the car and started on the 50-mile journey.  Suddenly the boy turned to him and shyly asked, “Are you God?”  Startled, Joe said, “No.”  The boy continued, “I heard Mom asking God for some way to get me to a doctor.  If you are not God, do you work for Him?”   Joe replied, “I guess so, sometimes.  And now that you ask, I’ll be doing a lot more of it.”

TO THINK ABOUT

Christ died – that’s history.
