FEED MY SHEEP  is this Sunday.  We appreciate your donations as the pantry assistance needs continue to increase and supplies are quite low.  Bring either food staples or monetary donations that can be used to purchase food at a greatly reduced price through the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS   This morning we are pleased to welcome into our congregation Lynn and Donna Spencer during the 10:45 service.  Lynn and Donna come to us by transfer from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Meade, Kansas.  Welcome to our congregation.

THANKSGIVING/CHRISTMAS BASKETS  will once again be offered to members of our congregation. We need your donations to make this a success !  Please bring in items typically used to prepare a Holiday dinner.  Place items on the giving Center counter so we can keep those items separate from the Pantry donations.  We also need monetary donations so we can include presents in the Christmas baskets.  Please mark you donation for the Christmas Baskets and put in the offering plate.  If you would like to RECEIVE A BASKET please contact the Church office by Wednesday, November 15th.   We need to know if you would like a basket for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR   Today on KURM (790 AM) at 12:30 P.M. & The Bott Radio Network at 8 A.M. on 89.3 F.M  “Blessed Are the Pure in Heart”  Speaker: Dr. Dale A. Meyer.  This weekend many churches observe All Saints Sunday, remembering those who have died in the Christian faith.  That prompts us to ask, what does it take to get to heaven?  Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”  What that means in this week’s Lutheran Hour message.  (Matthew 5:8)

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

November is here and that means; it is time to start packing shoe boxes for children around the world! Check the Narthex for lists of appropriate items and make sure to bring in any shoeboxes you have. Packing dates are November 16 and 17 from 5-7pm and November 18 starting at 1pm, so mark your calendar. Food will be provided for those who help. If you have any questions, talk to Cameron.

PASTOR BESEL GONE   Pastor and Shirley Besel will be taking a couple of days of vacation this week to attend the wedding of their nephew, Travis Besel, on Friday in St. Louis.  They will leave on Thursday and return on Saturday.  If you are in need of pastoral care, contact your elder or Pastor Bernthal.

2018 PLEDGES   If you have not returned your financial commitment form for 2018 or your updated Time and Talent forms to the office, please do so this week.  The budget committee will be meeting soon to work on the budget for next year and needs an idea of what people are planning to give.

COME TO ISRAEL   You are invited to join our group going to Israel March 20th – 30th, 2018.  We have 23 people going and there is still plenty of room available.  On the bulletin board in the Narthex there are packets that include the itinerary, hotel information and pricing.  This is an all-inclusive trip and we will be visiting all of the major sites.  If you have any questions about the trip or would like to join us please contact Pam Pickett 479-601-2550 or pamsue27@gmail.com

LIFE THOUGHTS IN THE CHURCH YEAR  God’s people regard it as our privilege and delight to abstain from sexual immorality (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7).  The eternal joys of godly relationships and bodily service to neighbors (1 Thessalonians 4:9) more than make up for whatever momentary gratification we forego.  Heavenly Bridegroom, captivate our hearts by Your self-giving love that we desire in body and soul to receive Your blessings and serve Your kingdom.  Amen.  (Pentecost XXII)

DAYSPRING ANNUAL WAREHOUSE SALE  Each year on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving week, Day Spring hosts their annual warehouse sale in Siloam Springs.  Dates for this year are Thursday through Saturday, November 16-18.  The sale will be at Day Spring’s warehouse building across from their headquarters at 21153 Highway 16 East, Siloam Springs.  While the theme focuses primarily on Christmas items, they also have non-holiday items available.  Many products are offered at huge discounts of 50-80 %.  During the sale, the Day Spring Ministry Team will sponsor a coat drive for children and adults to benefit Potter’s House.

LIFE QUOTES:  “God calls us all to support widows and orphans, that certainly does not mean every person is equipped to adopt a child.  You can support a child in need without becoming his or her parent.  Consider sponsoring a child overseas, going on a short-term mission trip to an orphanage, or financially supporting couples who adopt children through adoption grant-giving organizations.  There are many ways to become involved.”  Kim Laube, B.A. Lutheran Family Service, Urbandale, Iowa.  If you wish to support this group, go to their web site : www.lutherans for life.org
