CHRISTMAS PARADE  It is time to decorate the float for the Roger's Christmas Parade.  We will meet at the Eisma's (3008 W Capps Rd Rogers) at 1:00 pm Sunday December 2nd.    Snacks will be provided!  The parade is Friday Dec 7 at 7:00 pm.  We would love to have a few angels and shepherds on the float....so if your child would like to ride on the float please let Nancy Eisma or Kelly Faust know so we can plan accordingly.     Thank you!

THANK YOU SO MUCH   Mike and Mary Girshner would like to thank everyone who brought food, sent cards and offered prayers during Mary's recent surgery and recovery. Your love and concern was a picture of God's love. Mike is getting really good at heating up frozen meals! We thank you so much for caring. It has made the process so much easier for us. Mary had surgery again on Friday, Nov. 30. We appreciate your continued prayers for healing. God is good.

ADVENT  With the beginning of Advent, we will continue our Wednesday tradition of dinner at 5:30 pm followed by Worship at 7:00 pm.  There is also a 10:00 am Worship service. Our guest Pastor for this week is Rev. Myles Schultz.

COAT MIXUP  About three weeks ago, Karen Launderville picked up the wrong coat on her way out of church.  She has returned an Ann Klein, black wool coat.  Ladies, please check and see if you have Karen’s coat.  Yours is hanging in the Narthex.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR   Today on KURM (790 AM) at 12:30 P.M. & The Bott Radio Network at 8 A.M. on 89.3 F.M.  ‘Reality Therapy"  Speaker: Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler  The book of Ruth deals with unimportant people and unimportant matters, but deals with them in such a way as to show that God is active in ordinary lives-like yours and mine. Ruth's story became an important part of the story of Jesus. Listening to God's work in her life can rescue us from dead end delusions and bring us into what is most real-a Jesus-centered reality.  (Ruth 1-2)

LIFE THOUGHTS IN THE CHURCHAdvent brings the gift of anticipating: “none who wait for … [the Lord] shall be put to shame” (Psalm 25:3). A surprise pregnancy likewise invites patient faith instead of using death as a solution to difficulty. So does struggling with infertility or enduring permanent disability. Our Father’s salvation comes, not sluggish but steadfast (Psalm 25:10). Life is His promise, and He will move heaven and earth to fulfill it (Jeremiah 33:14). Son of David, our coming King, establish us in hope. Amen.

LIFE QUOTES   “Advent is about Return—the Lord’s Second Coming, our return to Him, which is another way of saying ‘repentance.’ Repentance requires memory, for return requires memory. The Prodigal did some mental research and remembered the facts about his father's house from his personal history. Informed by a paternal history, he struck a new course, which was to return. And the Homecoming was sweet, like the marriage supper in paradise, when all history will be fulfilled, and the guests live happily ever after. Advent reminds us, based on history that we know, that He is coming, which should remind us, Repent!” James M. Kushiner, The Fellowship of St. James –   If you wish to support this group, you may do so through their website: www.lutheransforlife.org
