NARTHEX MAILBOXES The office staff is in the process of reorganizing mailboxes. Please help us out by removing the contents of your mailbox. Placement is the same for this Sunday, but we hope this project to be completed this week so your mail may not be in exactly the same location next week. Please look carefully for your name. If you are a newcomer, your mailbox has been placed alphabetically. Why is it that the tallest of us always get mailboxes that are on the bottom and the shortest of us always get the very top tier? In order to help some with that problem, the top tier of mailboxes will be taped off. Also some mailboxes will be left unlabled to aid in assimilating newcomers.
UNITY SUNDAY is next week, July 15. There is one service at 10:00 A.M. Instead of a HTY Café, we will have potluck dinner. There will also be a voters meeting. The agenda will include an update on improvement projects, the financial condition of the congregation, and projects on hold because of finances.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Many of the volunteer roles have been filled for VBS but there are still areas where we need help! Check the Narthex board for Crew Leader sign ups or speak to Cameron if you would like to help at email@example.com.

LIFE THOUGHTS IN CHURCH – The Heavenly Father fashions crowns from thorns (2 Corinthians 12:9). In His steady hands, human pains have sacred purposes. What most would dismiss as burdensome, hopeless, futile, the God of the Cross adopts and adapts into blessing, holy, significant. He Who redeems hearts redeems hurts as well, whether crises or incurable or even crimes against life, to display His forgiving salvation. Almighty God, shape us into examples of Your power perfected in weakness and place us as its ambassadors. Amen. (Pentecost VII)
LIFE QUOTES “When people consider euthanasia for those experiencing illness or decline with aging, God’s Word is clear again through King David in Psalm 139:16b (NIV): ‘[A]ll the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.’” Mona Fuerstenau, director of Lutheran Ministry Partnerships, Bethesda Lutheran Communities– If you wish to support Lutherans for Life, you can through their web site www.lutheransforlife.org
Life’s Little Blessings
So many of life’s little blessings today
Will come unnoticed and slip away,
While we continue to grumble and fuss,
Ignoring the good God Who gave them to us.
How much more happy our lives would be,
If instead of complaining, we’d just stop to see
The numerous blessings He gives us each day,
Which lighten our burdens and brighten our way.
—Glenda Fulton Davis
Learning from the Great Personalities Of the Bible
If you are impatient, sit down and talk to Job.
If you are just a little strong-headed, go and see Moses.
If you are tired and afraid, take a good look at Elijah.
If there is no song in your heart, listen to David.
If you feel cold and lonely, get the beloved disciple John to put his arm around you.
If your faith is weak, read about the apostle Paul.
If you are getting lazy, listen to James.
If you are losing sight of the future, climb up the stairs of Revelation and get a glimpse of the promised land.
