Pastor Eric Longman has accepted the call to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. We are incredibly excited to start ministry with him. Below you will find the letter written to Holy Trinity from Pastor Longman.
June 15, 2019
Dear Members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Over the last few weeks, I have been considering the call to serve as your new pastor. After much
deliberation, more than a few restless nights, and continual prayer, the Holy Spirit has led me to
accept the call.
This was no easy process. I prayed long and hard over the decision, and many people both at Holy
Trinity and St. Paul offered their encouragement and insights. I sought counsel from fellow pastors
and from trusted friends. I struggled with the fact that I can see how my gifts and abilities fit in
both congregations, and wrestled with questions about what Christ might have in store for Holy
Trinity and for St. Paul. Over the last few weeks, I have increasingly felt a pull toward Rogers, and
have sensed that my ministry at St. Paul is drawing to a close.
Donna and I are so excited for what lies ahead! There is much to do; I have to tie up loose ends at
St. Paul, we need to sell our house, and there are dozens of other details that must be attended to.
I expect that my last Sunday at St. Paul will be July 7, and I will work with the leadership at both
congregations to put together a transition plan and set a date for my installation at Holy Trinity as
soon as possible.
You can imagine how difficult this news is for the people at St. Paul, and so I ask that you keep
them in your prayers, asking that God would comfort and guide them, providing for all of the needs
of the church. I will be with you soon!
In HIS Service,
Rev. Eric Longman
